What is a germ?
A germ is a type of particle or organism that when it gets into your body it causes infection or disease (makes you sick). There are germs everywhere in the world - on plants, animals, tables, doors, soil... the list goes on. A germ can be a bacteria, virus, protist, fungus, or helminths (parasitic worms).Most germs do not make you sick. Your immune system is able to defend your body before you get sick with those germs.

Body Story: The Flu (Discovery Ed) - A 24 minute long video that takes you through "Holly's" experience with having the Flu and what her immune system does to defeat it. Kids have always gotten a lot out of this one! (upper elementary - high school)
